President, Arconic Russia
Maxim Smirnov is President of Arconic Russia since May 2012, responsible for regional development strategy and alignment between production, commercial and resource functions. Maxim joined the Company in 2009 as Country Chief Financial Officer.
Prior to joining the Company, Maxim held CFO and First Deputy to General Manager positions with Mondi Syktyvkar, Anglo American PLC subsidiary and one of Russia’s largest paper and pulp producers. From 1997-2005, he served in financial management positions for Lafarge Russia, a building materials company. While there, he served as Financial Controller and later became Finance Director for Lafarge in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries. Earlier in his career, Maxim held management positions in the areas of finance and business planning in Russia’s division of Mars, Incorporated, global petcare, confectionery and food business.
Maxim holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Moscow State University. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Arconic Foundation since 2013.
