As the global economy evolves, so must the skills that will be needed by the workforce of tomorrow. To prepare students for the demands of the 21st century economy, Arconic Foundation focuses on projects that ignite their passion for the STEM disciplines. To increase STEM diversity, we place a special emphasis on engaging girls, women, minorities and other underrepresented or underserved groups to encourage them to pursue science and technology careers.
We partner with high schools, community colleges and universities to deliver innovative STEM educational materials and expose our youth to the breadth of fascinating STEM career opportunities. We also provide support through scholarships and mentoring programs.
The jobs of the future will require workers all over the world to upgrade their skills rapidly. To prepare the communities in which Arconic operates to be globally competitive, Arconic Foundation focuses on supporting education and training opportunities in engineering and advanced manufacturing.
Arconic Foundation takes a practical and holistic approach to workforce development that simultaneously addresses potential barriers to individual advancement and the needs and available resources of each community. We particularly emphasize the funding of underserved and underrepresented groups to help enhance society as a whole.
Too often, lack of access is a principal reason many young people don’t explore STEM fields of study. In struggling school districts, many teachers lack resources or training to deliver a quality, updated STEM curriculum.
Arconic Foundation aims to make STEM studies available to underserved and underrepresented groups in urban and rural communities. To increase diversity in STEM fields, we place special emphasis on engaging and educating girls, women, veterans and other minority populations. For example, Arconic Foundation supports veterans' transition into the civilian workforce through workforce readiness programs and expanded access to long-term employment opportunities.
