Alcoa Recognized for Recruiting and Retaining Diverse Workforce

NEW YORK--Alcoa (NYSE:AA) announced today that it is the first Metals and Mining company to achieve a top rating of 100 in the 2010 Corporate Equality Index and Best Places to Work Survey for its efforts in recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce.

The index rates 590 businesses on a scale from 0 to 100 based on several criterion, including diversity training, transgender and partner health benefits and insurance, employer-sponsored and supported employee resource groups, and exhibiting responsible behavior toward the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.
