Simon Bates is President of Arconic’s Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business, which produces a comprehensive range of building façade products, and includes Kawneer and Arconic Architectural Products.
Prior to joining Arconic in 2025, Simon has had more than 30 years of leadership experience in the chemical, construction and industrial segments. Most recently, he was CEO of Argos North America, one of the largest cement and ready-mix concrete producers in the USA. Prior to that, he served as President, CEO and Director of GCP Applied Technologies Inc., a leading global provider of construction products. He has also served as President of Infrastructure Products Group, a division of CRH, a global manufacturer of building products and materials. He has also held leadership positions at Axiall and Westlake, leading their building products businesses.
Simon has had great success in delivering organic and non-organic growth to businesses and building shareholder value. He has worked in more than 38 countries across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
Simon holds a bachelor’s degree In Economic from the University of York, England, and post graduate degrees in Accounting and Finance from the University of Manchester, England, and Marketing from the University of Salford, England.
